Help
Who to call in Alberta
- The Addiction Helpline, run by Recovery Alberta, answers at 1-866-332-2322 around the clock. Calls are confidential, cost nothing and can be about gambling.
- 211 Alberta is reached by dialling 211, texting INFO to 211 or opening its web chat. It never closes, costs nothing, stays confidential and points people to gambling support.
- AGLC self-exclusion can only be arranged online, at selfexclusion.ca. It can cover regulated online gaming, racing entertainment centres and casinos in Alberta, or both. Terms available are six months, one year, two years or three years; it takes effect immediately and cannot be shortened.
- GameSense Advisors and an information centre are part of every Alberta casino and racing entertainment centre. At Great Northern Casino, a Responsible Gambling Info Centre representative works on site.
One habit
Before the car leaves town
Settle two things before the car leaves town: the limit for the floor and the hour you will leave. Say both out loud to the person riding with you. A plan spoken before the trip is harder to quietly rewrite at the table. If you travel alone, write the time down and set an alarm on your phone. The limit stays a number you chose, not one the evening picks.
Method
How the Roadbook desk works
The Roadbook desk is the collective name the guide is written and signed under, with no named author behind it. On October 1, 2026, it checked facts against the casino's own pages and the Evergreen Park and Wild Horse pages. The Service Plus Inns & Suites pages, AGLC, the Alberta iGaming Corporation, Recovery Alberta and OpenStreetMap were checked too.
Distances are straight lines between OpenStreetMap points, town centre to casino, so the guide gives no driving times. Real roads are always longer; a Google Maps link opens each route.
The site's tools send nothing anywhere and keep only the light or dark theme, until the tab closes. Its photographs are generated images. The young woman in some of them is a character made for the pictures, not a real person or casino staff. Paid links, each marked Ad, appear on the home page only and earn the guide a commission.
Questions
Short answers for the road
01Can the Addiction Helpline be called at 3 a.m.?
Yes, the line answers at any hour. Recovery Alberta runs it at 1-866-332-2322, in confidence and at no cost, and it takes calls about gambling.
02Can self-exclusion be ended early?
No, there is no way to shorten it. After it is set up at selfexclusion.ca, it takes effect immediately and runs for the whole term picked: six months, one year, two years or three years.
03Is the woman in the photographs a real person?
No, she is a character made for the generated images on this site. She is not a real person, she is not casino staff, and she is not the author.
